OK I would not get a tattoo because my paint threshold is low and I don't think there is anything I want on my body for life (other than Cindy Crawford ;) )

My friend had this put on him

Its a logo he designed years ago for his band stuff and now his logo for the website (for bands) Its on his chest.

Each to their own. I do agree though (having worked in a pub) that old geezers with tats look (90% of the time) cr@p. they are old faded and wrincled. Not something I want to do but some ideas are really cool.

A friend had Icurus falling from the sun (Old zepplin cover i believe) on his back and it looked awsome,

As of Nudge team scream you are 15/16 and you want to cover an arm with a cool design. Leave it a few years, its amazing the stigma that people with tats get labeled with (any one got a story) It makes it harder to get a job (sometimes) or get into clubs if they are visable because you are more likely to be a trouble maker. (Happened to a mates dad)

It may look cool now but in 30/40 years will it when your body is not as toned or your skin is not as fresh as it is when you are 16.

But each person is individual.

Fairly valid point re visible tat's. I used to live in Tokyo, and whilst a pretty cool place (well the chicks definetly dig western geezers), Tats were a major No No. In Japan, tat's are usually associated with the criminal fraternity in particular the Yakuza. Whilst we all think this is "way cool", they do not. Try getting into a swimming pool, gym, health club with visible tat's, and they're think we're even worse than normal "gaijin" - (translation white barbarian). Whoose to say in 10 years time what peoples attitudes here will be?

Still, sh*gged a lot of their women............ :D

you have to be over 18 to get a tattoo done
I have quite a few tattoos now and dont think that you should worry about what others think of them. Tattoos are a personal thing and if someone doesnt like them then thats their problem not mine. It just shows how narrow minded someone is if they think differently about someone who has tats.
As long as the design of the tattoo doesnt offend or infringe on others beliefs (swastikas, NF, etc) then whats the problem?

I know what you are saying mate but its like not letting someone into a club because they are the wrong colour, or are of a different sexual persuasion. If the way someone looks makes you treat them differently then you have the problem.

I agree, but I fear that it tatoos are something that it is very difficult to get idealistic about.

Either way, I still want to see a picture of this guy's tatoos, or has he stopped looking at this thread?
