To see players from different teams play in the states against the yanks would be great. But!! as previously stated by Robbo before shockwaves, tigers, nexus and so on are nearly no where near the competition standards of the stateside teams. Everyone has sometime or rather had a lucky game, but thats all it will be. Taking different people from various teams would infact hinder their gaming. Some of the players might not know each other, and maybe would find it very difficult to communicate with each other to get those important shots, or runs.

As also stated in this thread it would take commitment, time and money to do this. And as the people will already be in their teams it would be very difficult to train as another team, and your own. So i would say stick with your original team and get there that way!!

true! nexus are playing together for some time now and still they have no easy going in the us...so a new all-star team (from whatever country) would need lots of training sessions together
before they would win anything in the us...i think.

thing is, you gotta train with better teams/players to learn. and as Nexus are formed outta some of the best players in the UK (they asked me to join but I couldn't be bothered...) they are gonna be a bit stuck for RRREEEAAALLLLLY productive trainin.

Teams are NEVER going to have an easy time in the states. The quality of there novice right through to the pros is f*ckin' unreal.

Top training helps to close the gap, but its gonna be a few years before we see a Euro team bring back some silverwhere from the states. Lets hope its sooner rather than later!

I think the initial post was suggesting to cherry-pick present teams, and then go to the States and kick ass.
Basically, choosing players from the likes of Tigers, Shock, Kelly's and so on to try and form a team of 'Best' players.

The end goal in this is to come back from the US with some silverware.
But in essence, we would be putting up a national team to contest a club competition.
And I for one wouldn't see much point in doing a 'one off' for the sake of one cup on a mantelpiece.
Nah, the assault on the US has to come from club teams.

There are however, opportunities that perhaps offer themselves up, I was ******* lucky when I started Nexus; after the X-Ball tournament was over, we all wanted to stay together.
Other teams however, if they want to make a serious assault on the US, have to either train like mad (doing the right things when they do), or go on a cherry-picking spree or do both.

Teams like Tigers and Shock, both of whom, have sponsor packages, are in prime positions to get pro-active in both departments.

And let's make no bones about this, the place to contest, is the US, that's where it's at if you are aiming for the top.
The Millennium Board threw away the one real chance we had of creating an environment for us to get back to the top.
This now leaves the onus for real improvement on the teams.

At the moment, the Millennium circuit isn't providing the cauldron of competition to drive our teams upward, it can get some teams to a plateau for sure but when that same team ventures westward, an ass kicking is waiting for them, we have had that proven to ourselves, time and time again.

Train train and train?
It ultimately depends upon what you want as a team, if you are happy to compete at a local level, then fine, but if your aspirations are higher, then you have to not only train hard, you have to make the trips across the water Stateside, coz sure as ****, they ain't all coming over here.
The edge honing for any aspiring teams comes from playing most of your games against the American ams and novices, this experience deepens the skill reservoir within your team and provides a necessary backdrop to all future training that would be aimed at their top pro teams.
