Breakout modes
Can't help wondering how long it will be before every where has to go full auto as anything else is becoming increasingly impossible to police.
Will/should the NPPL ban the use of these boards?
Does 'semi' even exist anywhere anymore?
Questions for another thread no doubt but are there any aftermarket boards that don't have 'naughty' modes anymore?
True but if no one made them (and I realise that's asking for a degree of integrity from manufacturers that is rare as rocking horse poo) then you wouldn't need umpteen different tests that the refs are expected to go through on every marker before every game of paintball.Originally posted by Beaker

They activate on the first, second or third pull.
So what's the test for breakout mode?
Just turn the gun off, back on, hold the trigger down long enough for the first 3 times and you'll see if it's in breakout mode. With the Virtue board breakout is only ever the first shot.
So yes it's there, but any ref or scrutineer will be able to find / prove it easy as pie. It still amazes me that the leagues don't have proper scrutineers who do find out / know these things, they aren't all that difficult to keep up with (yet)
I don't blame the players, the manuals are freely avaiable, these aren't hidden modes, any ref can find these things out.
The leagues need to have on field refs and tech refs. Let the refs on the field judge the calls and dedicated, trained and knowledgable refs make the equipment calls. This goes from everything from watching breakouts for modes to proper chorno procedure.
Sorry rant over

Ok - you can counter the following argument by saying that boards shouldn't be made adjustable but!!! There's a few programmers on here who are able to programme boards to do pretty much whatever they want so it's not just the manufacturers who need a dose of integrity. I realise that this is the exception rather than the rule but there ya go...Originally posted by Ben Frain
