need to get hold of Tank for an exit
The way I understand this, is due to the way FA is available on the System X - i.e. it is selectable by pushing a switch, unlike, for example, my Race Frame which would need to be connected to a computer/palm to modify the mode.

*Note - for the record, I have the semi-only firmware installed in my grip, as the full firmware would make my gat illegal in the UK, as it is FA/Burst capable. If I try to select another mode, such as three shot, FA, or hyper (turbo stylee mode) I get classic semi mode - so no dodgy-ness on my gat ;)

Any gat that is mode switchable so easily is bad karma for tourney ball anyways - if a marshal can make your gat do something dodgy (go hot, shoot modes etc) without tools, then in theory so can you on the field = bad gat/naughty/uneducated/misinformed baller!

You said they weren't illegal mate.......... but they certainly are. Unfortunately it's not difficult to get hold of one (on acount of customs being unsure/uninformed/confused) so if a newbie read your statement that they weren't illegal........ not "in my opinion" but
"and ill say it again, but am not going to discuss it.. if the projectile doesnt inflict a fatal wound then it is not illegal, well not according to the firearms department at UK customs"
which read a little different before you edited it to blame customs :)
I've read lots of your posts and you're informed and make sense...... what if some newbie took it as gospel and got hold of one? It's not a discussion, they are illegal. No argument.

he he, Just worries me that this stuff is still occuring. I love the sport, I don't want to give the powers that be a reason to can us.

First off, this applies to the electro's only. Most of the SX that I've imported is non-electro.

Russ and I bounced a few emails around and here's the deal for SX at 2K4 and PA (and other tourneys I guess)

Russ requires a mod to be done on the trigger frame, after which they will be ok for use at PA and 2K4. Those that I've imported will have the mod done immediately, for those players who have imported their own the mod is easy to do so no excuse for not getting it done. (PM me if you don't know what to do).

I have spoke to SX in the US, they have taken this very seriously and their designers are working on a new board as I write this, will be available before MS. BTW: apparently this problem only exists on certain boards and not all. I will be sure to inform Russ of the firmware revision on the new boards so that they can be easily identified, as soon as it's available.

Agree with one writers sentiments, what would an outsider think of our kit in general if he read this thread, especially if it were one of the powers that be?

Well they might think from the first post that we are careful to self-regulate and from some of the latter ones that many of us are knowledgeable about the law and seek to make sure those that aren't are informed and kept within its bounds

Different spin on things?
