Thanks everyone for the feedback. Thanks Mark - good points (most of 'em). I agree with you about nearly all.

We did have a PA system, but had power problems that we couldn't have forseen given the time that the venue gave us to set up.

I don't mind lugging some tables around ;o) Believe me, it's more stressfull trying to get six judges out of bed and working in the morning! Nah, kidding. They did a hell of a lot or work before, during and after the tourney - can't fault me staff.

Agree about the chronograph by the safe area. I didn't set it up though and as soon as a noticed it, I moved it.

Agree about the netting by the road.

Don't agree about how we were treating some teams who were late or had problems. The schedule was on time and we had an early finish planned anyway. I'd rather give some new players a break than ensure everyone gets to go home a 4am. The better their experience, the more likely they are to stay in the sport.

I think that was most of your points. Thank you for them - you know we always encourage feedback.

Just to add thanks to the other guy who guested for us, sorry I didn't remember your name or team. I was walking around like a zombie all day, was not exactly in my most responsive state.

Ian stop drooling, I'll have to warn the rest of the chicks about you before we go to campaign :).

Your're the boss syd! I still think. I think games running to time is important for the people who come along way. I've played a quite a few tournies around the country and hate it when your final game runs an hour late due to all those teams who have turned up a couple of minutes late, or had seriously hot guns, and thenyou have to drive 2+ hours home!

imagine you get 10 teams late in the day on one field, thats half an hour already, then the fields start to run out of synch, so you finnish one game and have to get immeidtly to the next field, of course being about 5 mins late due to having to pot up/clean up, it all goes wrong ending up with a diaster.

As for being hard, my team played stockholm this weekend, Bob was hand chroned on the field, he fires a single shot and it was over 300. Hes sent off straight away. After the game they get the judge to check his gun again, not one over 300. Just a freak ball. Thats what I call harsh!

You are right, you have to give new players a start and encourage them, but dont let the more experienced ones get away with being late! Got to strike a balance!

Syd, last time I was up at Skirmish nottingham, there was some guys there who were supplying scuba diving quality air (air not dirt/dust in it) from a truck at 4500 fills. I think they will be at shoot the rainbow, might be an idea to find out how much they charge, or if there is sombody in the southwest who operates a similar service for divers and might be interested in paintball.

Great tourney overall and only 20 mins away, what more can I ask for!

I drove 3.5 hours to get to it and decided that on the whole it was worth it as I had an enjoyable day, despite losing every game:( I played one game without a marker and spent the entire game screaming my head off until I got bunkered (not much I could do but I was ready to chuck a pot of paint at him:D ).
Mostly good marshalling some cockups but not many, enjoyed it and will be up for it again. Though next time my marker will work all day:eek:  :D
