Well it was our first tourney and i really enjoyed it it was great to see everyone helping each other out especially when a team was short someone would help em out and make up the numbers (especially when they were in the same group)

Hope to see you all at the next leg.

Great event

Best southwest tourney I've been too, well done Syd and crew.
Good advert for paintball too, being next to J19 of the m5, with cars slowing to a crawl to look what was going on.

Here are my pluses on the event (bear in mind I have been to a lot of Millennium events so have been spoilt not meaning to sound pompous of course.)

1. good venue, nice flat fields.
2. good publicity for sport
3. good fields
4. generally good marshalling
5. good players area
6. good parking/toliets/food etc.
7. friendly bunch of people.
8. Ran quite smoothly, I have been to worse tournaments.

Here are a few suggestions to make an even better tourney.

1. Get a PA system so you can inform the players their game is coming up.

2. get some walkie talkies so your crew don’t have to run about so much.

3. Better netting coverage the netting on field 2 next to the road was a disgrace. As I informed field 2 head marshal about it, 2 cyclists went by, completely exposed to any paint. There were also gaps on field 1. Come on guys if one person/car had been hit and they complained, all the good publicity from the m5 exposure would have been blown away.

4. In the morning, the chrony was being used next to the players area, which was unnetted and people were naturally not wearing goggles. Uh uh.

4. Towers should be anchored down, saw several blow down at this years Amsterdam Millennium event.

5. Better air supply, ok, supply was ok, getting about 2600-2900 PSI. This would be on a wish list, make sure the safety issues above are dealt with first!

6. Were any members of the press/tv there ? Would have been some nice publicity.

7. Syd, make your judges harder on players turning up late for games, having hot guns. I played for a scratch team, on my "team", on one game 1 gun went down, 2 were hot. So you allowed us to play later. Its very nice, but just makes the schedules run late. If players turn up late, then they forfeit the game, or start without them at least. Its hard, but if you don’t, it plays havoc with the schedule. Some people take the p1ss, knowing that there is no penalty for turning up late to a game, so take their time.

8.Syd, I noticed you were doing a lot of the donkey work eg lugging tables about, you need to get your crew doing a lot more of that stuff, leaving you to sort our problems. You were looking a little stressed!

Overall, well done Syd, this is all meant to be constructive criticism. I know its damn hard work to organise any event, and people will always whinge about something. Just want to give you a few suggestions to make next events even better.

My first Tourny too, though only as a spectator. I got to meet some P8ntballer regulars. It was nice to put faces to avatars ;)
If I had one gripe, it was that barrel plugs and barrel condoms were in short supply. Many players came off the fields without any barrel blockers, or used squeegies down the barrel! I thought these were mandatory.

OK, so Im gonna jump on the band wagon....
On behalf of Dark Ritual, I would like to say a big thanx to all the folks at this event. Had a fantastic day, and played against some very tough teams out there and I dont know about the rest of you guys, but we cirtainly learnt alot.
Judging was excellent, food was easy to get, air was there, fields made you think.

Nice one Sid, lets do it again sometime.

Just like to say that we took 2 new guys down with us (Buff and Heston), and they played that well that they put the rest of the team to shame!!! Well done boys, welcome aboared.
And also thanx to Sparklie for the cookies

;) ;)

On all a good tourney. Mark there was someone with a camera and a press jacket but don't know who from. The safety problems do need to be sorted out there was great potential for a serious accident: In addition to what mark said there were a lot of pleyer not wearing goggles this I belive occured as there was no boundry to enforce goggles on the wide steps side enterence to the fields, or better still net off all the chrony stations so there are no unplugged guns out of netted areas. Alien we were privilaged to have you play, you absolutely rocked in our last game, thanks very much.
