Hi This post is aimed at both the organisers of the D7's and at the captains and players of the event.

Having noticed the unseasonably good weather we've had recently and remembering the firmness of the playing fields at pull paintball park, i was wondering if there would be support for scrapping the rule on knee and elbow padding at the event- i know that you can wear pads if you don't have padding as an integral part of your clothing design- i was just wondering if there would be support from all teams for a temp scrapping of this rule untill the ground softens a bit.

I personally play in C4's and a dye C4 top both of which have a form of padding sewn into them, now while this forbids me to wear elbow and knee pads under the current rules i have found that this padding is insufficiant alone. I do have an old knee injury and yes i do sign a disclaimer at the start of each event so i'm not expecting anyone to do this on my behalf, just wondered if there was any support for this temp lifting of the rule??????

At the end of the day the D7 league rules, and i'd play if it became mandatory to wear a thong and string vest (you an me smally against the world) but i'd rather not get injured for the sake of it.

So whaddya think should i pipe the fook down or is there further support for a relaxation of this rule?????

Oooo tricky one:D

Personally i thought it was a bit "strange" that the DYE tops were allowed in the first place. After all of the talk at the time with regards to where some of the padding is located, how thin/thick it is, etc. I'm going to go against you and say that the rule shouldn't be relaxed... Sorry :)

As i say, when the tops came out people said that the padding didn't make a difference and wouldn't encourage bounces and that it was there as a safety feature (well ok a few people did hold there hands up and say that they bought them cos they looked good) and the decision was made, presumably more for financial reasons than in the interests of fair play, that they should be allowed as long as pads aren't worn underneath as the padding in the jersey is sufficient.

Ramble, ramble!!! ;)

Anyway...If you're now saying that the padding isn't sufficient to do it's job then why is it there in the first place?:D

They let the rules slide (see what i did there) once in allowing padding in jerseys... why should the rules be relaxed again to allow pads. Are you an out of work groundsman trying to create a niche in the market for employees to check the consistency of the pitches before play can commence? Who's going to rule that the ground is too hard and who's going to keep a degree of consistency across the fields and tournaments depending on the weather?

Another slippery slope if you ask me.

Sorry:( :)

(ps - i do like the Dye Kit though...)

Personally I think DYE have gone too far with the padding in the shirts (and are going to reap what the sow with the NPPL), I personally have cut the padding out of my top so I can wear pads which at least give me a bit of protection.

As for doing this to my C4's you can kiss my hairy yellow butt, I for 1 think that seeing as we are playing on 'the surface of the moon' due to the hardness of the ground, players should be allowed to wear knee pads, and as far as the tops go either remove the padding or play with your pads over your jersey or your sleeves rolled up (I am quite sure before long this will become a whole new level of agg)

this is one of the reasons i decided against the C4 range, maybe if u want protection on ure knee's/legs u cud get a pair of BMX knee/shin guards? or something on the lines of that so it offers u protection but it aint gonna promote mega bounce due them being made out of plastic so wud, i guess, act like a wooden leg - but made out of plastic

good point tho, just my views :D

ok ok i do usually talk utter poo but the BMX knee and shin gards are very conformatable - if the paint wudn;t break so easily on them then i wud wear a pair myself - if they are legal that is
