Typically air mail takes 5-9 days, provided it is priority post!

(Is the body one of those turtle cockers? i'm really interested in one of those!)

not to put a dampener on it.....but

You gotta watch gear coming in from the states. As long as there is a good full description on the item you should be ok.
If not, anything that may look like part of a firearm could be impounded by customs.
Check with the sender to see if there is a tracking number.
If customs do pull it, be prepared to pay duty, vat and additional shipping costs on your doorstep!

Oh Yes!

Happened to me when I got a new bolt for my Matrix from Canada.

Customs wanted all sorts of information regarding velocities etc.

Took an extra day for customs to release it....

Cost me an extra £30 when UPS got to my door!

Good luck!:)

Samples

Sorry mate you will still pay tax.
The law regarding samples changed a couple of months back.
For it to be brought in as a sample it must be "unusable". Some part willl need to be removed/ perminantly damaged so as to make the goods unusable. For clothing they either remove a sleeve or print all across it "sample". :(
Stuff sometimes slips through, but customs will check with the manufacturer and if it does not meet the sample criteria they will either bill you the duty or impound the goods.

If someone ordered something from the US and it only shows £20 on the customs invoice, you dont pay any import duties or taxes.

Also if you receive a warranty repair you can usually avoid import duties and taxes.

Or so I've heard

;)
