stripped screws, drilling and tapping the only way?

2 screws have been stripped in me grip frame, ive spoken to planet and smart parts, SP told me to go to a engineering place, planet told me to go to SP

just wondering if there is an easier way to get a stripped screw out, or do i really have to drill it and tap it again

Have you got the screws out, or are they still in the frame. Is it the screw that's stripped or the frame.

its the screws, as in they're still in there, which is why i was thinking of drilling it

Get yourself an EASYOUT available from main DIY retailers (try B & Q) As it says, it works by inserting a reverse thread insert so as you screw it in the stuck bolt/screw comes out! magic!

i think the problem here though, is the bolt/screw is not stuck but stripped, and can't be threaded out. What it needs is the personal touch.

yeah, the screw has been twisted to far, the so the head has been taken off, and left the actual screw part still in the hole
