To be honest I think it would! If it were only players and 1 guest allowed into the tents then I reckon that s half the battle. As for the thiefs bein players I have to admit that yeah it probably is, but if at the captains meeting it was annonced that all teams have to be aware that there are players trying to steal kit. If a team seen anyone not with the team who's table he is at diggin into kit was to be reported (as such).

If all the tables in the player tent had very clear signs of to what team is on that table it would be easy to tell who is somewhere they shouldn t.

Now I know that people whill say ''well some teams have freinds etc in other teams'' but am talkin bout when there is no1 from that team at their table and sum1 comes up and decides to start gettin the goods.

And about the entrance thing, why not just only have 1 entrance and exit leading straight to the air?

A aint sayin this is goin to totally stop it, its not a perfect plan or anything, jus think that if teams are aware and help each other it'll help :D

we went and played in a scratch team down at the m25 and you had to have a sticker that said m25 on it to get into the players tent the organisers looked out for anyone without one & so did the players that worked fine and it was mainly the players asking people who didnt have a sticker to leave the tent no one seemed to take offence and there were no problems all day maybe this could be a soloution

Paragraph 1. - So , if its a player , passes dont matter , he's in there anyway. How many threads have there been over the last year or so , along the lines of "insert tourney here - stolen kit". We know people are nicking kit , it does not need an announcement at a captains meeting. There are several teams with players that I know , and I would absolutely allow to go into my kit and get stuff if they needed it. I trust them and I know they would help me out. I bet that applies to most players on most teams.

Paragraph 2. - Yes , if every team had there own distictive tops , and all teams were happy with the position given to them in the tent , and all other teams were going to sit watch when they are in the tent. That is never gonna happen. People want to choose there own space , and are generally too busy getting stuff sorted to be watching other people. I think that anyone seeing someone in a kit bag would think they were ok to be in it anyway.

Paragraph 3. - Back to what I said in para 1. If its people I know , then I trust them to go into my stuff if they need it. Even if I and my team are not there to watch.

I know what you are trying to say , and in general I agree , but passes aint gonna make a difference. Not really. Its just gonna make the events cost more.
We have just got to be a little more carefull about what we take/leave at tournies. I would say that 99.9% of people at events are trust worthy.

To anyone out there who knows the guy who took the barrel , he needs to be named/shamed/photos posted etc. We dont need this kind of crap. If it was an accident , or case of crossed wires , give it back and explain why you took it.

Cheers.

So I have came up with this!!! At Millenium events only players or people wearing passes can get into the player tents, I think the MM should do sumthin similar, where only players get into the tents, and maby 1 or 2 guests to help pot biatch etc for a team. Any1 else is to get kept outside the tent, cause lets face it the only people that NEED to get into the tents are us the players.
yeah, and then we can get charged £14 for going to one event for a useless piece of plastic that is hardly ever checked:rolleyes:

I think at the end of the day the biggest problem here is that we've become complacent.
Yes in an ideal world we should all be able to leave our kit lying around unfortunatley this isn't the case.
Best thing I think we can do is:
Insurance - make sure your stuff is insured.
Padlocks - can get combination lock padlocks you can then give the number to anyone who wants to borrow stuff. Padlocks can also be used to lock a few kitbags together.

Failing that lock kit that you aren't using in the boot of a car os somewhere else it can't be seen.

hi all
i was amazed by the fact that someone at a MM event could steep sooooooooooooooo low to steal really makes my blood boil

on the same note i went over to DV8,s table(hubby,s team) to get some batterys from Flaming Dave but the team was out on the feilds
so i looked in the kit bags not 1 but 3 bags (damn planet for making so many blue/cream bags!) and NO ONE asked me what i was doing or who i was
i could have been anyone or taking anything!!

i think if we just take a minute to see who is on the next table to you in the morning and make a note of which team it is
we could look out for people looking into bags etc who aren,t in that team
plus you get to know ballers and you never know might even have a laugh with them

well thats my 2p worth
