I've been working on my own bolt for the ion made out of teflon and im just finishing my first prototype at the moment.

Good work Crumpler, not to take anything away but this mod has been around for ages

Like Mike says, I wouldn't remove ALL the fins, I'd remove 4 of them and leave the other 2 as guides.

Never the less, it does work but if one is not careful with the grinding, the bolt is weakened and snaps during repeated use like the original orange bolts.

Similar success can result from VERY CAREFULLY drilling out some of the holes in the face of the bolt - any increase in air flow will result in a drop in dwell and/or operating pressure.
