carbon fiber is strong but it has different properties to alloys/metals.
in effect the stiffi is just a carbon tube whith quite a small side wall thickness. this makes it v light and strong enough for most "adventures" with it
where as compair that to a dye barrell it is thicker and also parts of the design increaces the wall thickness (e.g tip)
The other thing is due to the nature of the materials a alloy barrel will bend (so small it is almost unnoticable to u bend )
where as a stiffi wil crack/fracture.
end of day its personal prefferance got a stiffi tip for my freak, if it breaks its only a tip so not much of a worry and woah its light!
