Im looking at getting a different barrel for my ego - i currently use a ultralite front/back but want a change!

Ive heard mixed reviews (as you do with all things i suppose) but what do you peeps think i should do?

And - if they are good, where can i get em in the uk?

Cheers

Steve

i had the first ones in the uk a while ago.

pluses:
very VERY light
accurate, almost but not quite on par with a boomstick id say
very quiet...probably the quietest barrel ive shot, not sure if its due to the material or not.
looks bling

downers:
short control bore....if you were using undersized paint the accuracy may be an issue.
ive seen some nasty photos of what happens when they take a bad fall......just shattered mess!
fibres can eventually fray from dings.

i got mine for the half block cocker i built, i was on a mission to make the lightest marker possible and it definatly helped! however id say that on most guns you will find that the marker becomes back heavy these barrels are that light wieght

I wouldnt bother Steve - whilst i know your not particularly the sort to go and dive 8 ft across a snake - these things are pretty "flimsey", Ex team mate used to use one and after 3 months had cracked it

so i'd advise you to stick with alu barrells :)

Ultralites and most alloy barrells are as strong and rhobust as each other. i ve never broke one... (touch wood... head)

The Ultralite is a great made barrell, i run 2 and wont change em for anything

Reason the stiffi is being questioned is its made of carbon fibre which aint as strong as Alluminium

Hope that helps:)
