Well, seeing as you asked...

A) What I was told by one of Epoch when considering a cocker.

B) the amount of hassle Steve seems to be having with the Eblade at the moment.

C) That timing on that thing you're using... :p

any more questions?

I agree with le-pig, once a cocker is set up right then u dnt need mess with it, they are great markers and there are enough people about these boards to help you out shoudl you come across summat.

My only other choice would be an impy, great markers to start off with and tons of potential to upgrade them.

Both of these u can pick up for reasonable dolla but it depends what you want and feel comfortable with at the end of the day.

my first marker was a xtra never had a problem with it personally but much prefer my cocker tho. :D

I'm with Pump n Splat on this.

I bought a brand new 02 cocker, used it three times and the ram went on me.

Get the ram replaced, cost £50. (Ilive on the isle of man so postage is a killer)

once ram was replaced needed the timing reset. the list goes on. I boxed it and bought an Angel(A4).Never had a prob with this.

I suppose the argument that "once you get it set up its sweet" is valid but its getting it set up that's the problem.

I wouldn't advise this as a starter marker, too complicated to fix.

Tippman's are solid as starter markers cause they are very straight forward to fix, reliable as hell and built like tanks. yeah they're fugly but I've shot as many people with an A5 as I have with my A4

Your choice in the end, most people get a feel for certain markers and wont have a bad word said about them, Get as many views as poss.

And most importantly, enjoy. Paintball's great! even with a Sterling pump action eh nick?

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmkay

have to say i agree with le pig if you dont mess around with a cocker, it is fine, keep it clean and adopt the rule "if it 8nt broke dont fix it !" as for problems with rams only time i have heard this ocuring is when folk set the lpr incorectly and either damage the threads on the back block, or bugger the ram i have not had any probs in this area, and my eblade is excelent, every marker can have problems including angels etc etc and as everyone with eblades and cockers are upgrading to the new e2 now is the time for a newbie to buy a bargain tourney marker like the one above isnt that right rob :D classic, has all the right bits at cheap price ! for the same price you may get an old angel with more shots on the clock than nutcases in this sport (and tats alot baby)

Are you stalking me tonite richie? :D

My personal opinion as I've owned a few markers, is as follows. If you get one setup ok and don't piss about with it, it is likely that the marker will serve you well, just a little clean and lube here and there, thats not saying that it won't go wrong.

However you cannnot go wrong with an Angel, they are very pickup and play and rarely go wrong, if they do Angel support is second to none. Angel LCD's are also going v cheap at the mo and take no setup at all.

You could go cheap like a spyder, pirahna etc, but you will find that eventually you will have to upgrade. So I would opt for an Angel. Just so you know I have owned one, alone with a Mag,2 impulse's, a shocker and finally a cocker.

If you do like messing with stuff and like accuracy, then buy my Cocker!:D
