Staining Paint

famine I was thinking of blood and general down on site grime ;)

I don't think it would work for a dirty mind ;)

I think most compaines have produced paint that stain once in a while. My zebra striped reffing trews got ruined with neon RPS 3 years later and it still wouldn't shift. Orange hell fire (diablo) runined my fav white cut offs at mayhem 3 years ago whilst watching. just my 2 pennys worth:)

This is not supposed to be a witch hunt and by the looks of it there is no definitive answer.

My only question to manufacturers is that in the search for ever heavier marking paints has the principle that the players wish to use their tops more than once fallen by the wayside.

I use in excess of 15,000,000 balls on my sites and never have a problem with our laundry contractor. There is obviously a difference between the so called cheaper "site" paints anbd tournament grade.

I know everyone will get on their high horse but "if players walked when they got shot why do we need such staining paints"

All I ask is if in doubt take your paint back to your supplier and quote trading standards saying it is not fit for the job is has been sold:D

tell you what....as there are 2 big tournies this weekend the s2k and the m25 hows about someone at each event collect (ask nice) all the teams for a hand full of paint, bag em up and label em so we can tell what paint is what brand.....

then when theres a free moment bung em thru a marker one by one shooting at say......a white cotton sheet
then comapair the results gained from the paint collected at the different events......under reasonably controled conditions, ie give the sheets a couple of hours hung up (to simulate being in a kit bag or on field etc) then bung em in the wash and see what happens.
might even make a good artical for a magazine?

Whether each paint stains or not depends on the batch and how much dye they put in at the time.

Pink paint does generally seem to be the worst for staining though.

Had a nasty batch of Severe recently, but then have had nasty batches of Zap, diablo and just about everything else.

It comes out eventually, just not from lenses and the like (hey free tint)

If it is case of only some batches having problems, is it possible to work out which batches are bad at the moment.

It seems that everyone has problems with pink paint, what are the chances of saying no pink paint at the M25 this weekend?

As expensive sport gets more so when your £1000 marker gets stained for life, cheap but nasty splash anodising!
