spyder xtra or shutter

yes

Yeah, its the lack of a regulator and if you have a non-antisyphon tank then its bound to happen. Like myself, I can't put up with it anymore, thats why i am buying the Impy and the delrin bolt...less o-rings to oil, and with anti-syphon, it should be plain sailing! :)

I think the shutter is better. My best friends older brother has one. The barrel it comes with very accurate. I played against his older brother and he won the game. It was a 1 on 5 game. All he did was camp in the fort in my friends backyard. I hope this will help you decide.

Basix

The basix of a barrel are simple. The things that make a barrel accurate are porting, length and the paint to bore size match. Sometimes if you find a paint that fits the stock barrel, you can get super accuracy. But...if you put a too small bore size paint into the shutter, things start to go more like boomerangs...plain and simple you will shoot the back of your own head, when pointin the gun forward.

The Xtra and Shutter barrels are almost the same. The porting on the shutter is the same size, just spirralled, and not reach further enough towards the marker to make a difference. The muzzle break in both the xtra and shutter are the same.:)

if youre going to get the shutter might as well go for the e99 its the same price basically and you get the bonus of an electronic marker, if you get the e99 though you should also keep in mind that you must buy an agitated hopper. I suggest the ricochet, it has everything you could possibly need in a hopper.

I own a shutter and think it works great. ive used paranahs and a spyder xtra

i liked the shutter out of them. The accuracy was good for a stock barrel, i plan to buy a new barrel soon for improved shooting. (browsing forums right now to see what peeps thing is best)
the o-ring deal is a pain in the ass but its not that hard to replace them...

I've got an E99 and my team mate has a shutter, the main differences after having stripped 'em both are:

- The shutter has a sexy looking bolt, and slightly different cocking grip, the E99 has a straight, plain and simple, functional bolt. Both do exactly the same (interchangeable).

- The shutter has holes in the sides , exposing the bolt, looks nice but lets muck/paint get in. E99 doesn't

- The E99 is Vertical feed, shutter isn't

- Shutter has a shroud over where the barrel screws in, e99 doesnt.

- Shutter has a gauge on the bottomline, E99 doesn't

- Different porting on the barrels (E99: straight, Shutter: spiral)

- E99 has splash anodizing, shutter doesn't.

- E99 has a slightly larger dropfroward that the shutter.

- Oh yeah! E99 HAS AN ELECTRONIC GRIP FRAME! SHUTTER DOESN'T!

The trigger on the E99 can be set to take less effort to fire than it takes to click yer mouse button. And the e99 is cheaper than a shutter. Most if not all of the Shutter bonuses are cosmetic.
