This forums gotten pretty tame lately, so lets kick it up a notch....


Debate:
Wiping is a skill as important in paintball as snap shooting or running. It requires practice and field awareness to do properly and can completely change the outcome of a game in a number of ways. In any other sport a foul is not considered cheating, just a part of the game. Screw the "playing the gray" arguments, wiping is a fundamental skill and in no way constitutes cheating. If you get away with it good for you, if you don't then you pay the price, simple as that.

I totally agree, wiping is part of the game.
I also agree that, if caught, a player should be penalised to disencourage individuals from partaking.

a foul is a part of football, but is still penalised !

maybe a red card system could be implemented, for the team rather than the player, ie, if the team accrues more than 2 yellow cards in a competition, then they are disqualified.

i understand that wiping is a part of the game, but i do see it as cheating, if you get shot you are out ? that is the whole point innit ? whicch is why in tourneys on important finals teams should be given ball bearings instaed of paint, its harder to keep your liver in without getting caught lol only problem is that all the good players / teams will die ?

Wiping? sort of defeats the object of playing paintball really. It's one of the things that makes the "sport" hard for the masses to accept............ be a bit like a goal not counting in football because the keeper covered the refs eyes.
Makes it look a bit silly really.

Its a cheat and maybe a skill dat sum ppl woudlnt even wanna try and master,
If u hit sum1 and scream for them to be checked only to be told hes clean . cus of the fact he has wiped and played on

simply its a game and wipin is just wrong , if u wanna win dat badly then practise more

Or a player diving in the area to get a penalty.

I don't think wiping is an "essential skill" but the rules are there, enforce them. You get caught you do the time.

Jack - not a bad idea, although teams might well save up their "fouls" and use them in the finals so they can get away with more at a more important time.

Considering the high cuts in events now, perhaps having penalty points as well as the 1-4-1 etc.

put simply I don't cheat, my conscience won't allow it. But i do understand that there are people who do and why they do it. At the end of the day that is why the refs are there! The days of honesty and honour are long gone ( is most areas of life mores the pity) and people should just accept it and move on. If it comes to the point where cheating is uncontrollable we will just have to put more refs on the field..............

Just to add fuel to the fire........How do you feel about "cheating boards" in markers??

To me, one pull one shot. Anything else is a cheat. That includes ramping, turbo or memory.

I dont see anything wrong with ramping boards if everyone uses them. that way they become standard, therefore not a cheat board. the only thing that makes it a cheater board is the fact that the certain tournaments in the states have outlawed them, due to the fact that apparently it gives an unfair advantage.

obvioulsy I do not include the uk in this remark, because ak47 blah blah section 68 blah.........
