Gyroscope. Spoke to Johnny Sosta and his first question to me was why do you want to add the break beam. As he cant see any advantages to it. But if you want to go ahead do so but there may be problems with the power to them side of things.

Wouldn't it just be easier to buy a new programmable board that supports beam breaks (Morlock, for example), buy both elements of a beam break eye, drill and tap the other side of the body? No issues of power or signal inversion or anything like that. You might consider it.
