Space Frame for an LCD

Tom that looks sweet as a feckin nut, where did you get the frame from? Will WDP sell them on their own?

While we are on the subject, I notice that WDP are selling Ir3 and Speed boards seperatly, can you ditch the LCD board (eliminating the need to carve the board up to fit) and slap in a speed/Ir3 board and off you go.

The space frame in the pic, is from my Angel 4, but i would have thought that wdp would sell the space frame seperate.

When you consider the cost of a new board, i would modify the lcd board or carve the grip frame, definately cheaper.

I'm not sure whether the speed has a 4.8v battery, as apposed to the 6v in the lcd and IR3. If this is the case, then you couldn't use the speed board, not only would it expect to have 4.8v going in, the charging may be upset, due to the different voltages.

I'll give wdp a ring and check it out.

I was going to say that you could just buy a speed battery, but it is mounted differently. Shame. I'm gonna email WDP to see if they will sell me a space frame for an Ir3 on it's own.

Did you have to do much reshaping of the LCD board?

Rob, just spoke to Stine at WDP, and she's going to try and pull a frame from production, as they don't have any in stock. Should have some prices tomorrow, it would be more likely that the space frame would be from an Angel 4, as they are producing them now.
If you want one what colour would you like, and you will need an A4 trigger as the pivot point it different to the lcd (an ir3 one may fit)
Remeber i can get a good price for you.
The pic is my complete A4 grip frame bolted up to the lcd, but it is quite easy to modify the board, or cut away the grip frame.

PS. Unless your board is out of warranty i would leave it alone.

I bought a blue one to put on my LCD, and it looked like poo (it also had the hand guard, it was back when they still made those), but if you sand off the finish and buff and polish it, it looks almost chrome, and looks awesome with the green on my angel.

That'd be cool, then you could just take some steel wool and brasso to it, and BAM, full mirror shine.
