The Southeast Tournament Scene or not!

I know everybody moaned about the Temple, but at least it was a regular tourny that quiet a few teams went to (and it was in the southeast). But now that has gone whats left?

I know there is a new series starting up called Dartford sevens and I'm grateful for it, but is there any chance of someone else getting any other tournaments started in the southeast?

The M25 last year was a great success, but unfortunately that has died a death for reasons we won't go into! ;)

Does anybody else feel the same, why should we have to always go up north for a good tourny, Come on guys whats your views on this?????

lets see

It would be a great to see another series down south and with maybe the same kinda organisational skills of the guys who ran that euro 5 man now that would a series worth travelling to no matter where they set it up down south.

i did hear that there was gonna be another series i just cannot remember where exactly i beleive it was guildford area but am not 100% but nothing has been confimed since before christmas.

what would also be good would be if maybe niall and his guys could organise some sort of series i know they've got the support and resources any one from campaign wanna add anything (ie red merkin ?)

:D ;) :D

I dont really wanna say this but...

IMO Compared to Op Norf, there always seems to be so much more bitchin and backstabbing in the southern tourney scene, and its always been that way since I started a nearly 3 years ago back at tha Temple..

Dont know why its like that, but that deffinately doesnt help tourneys to keep running.

Oh well, Im used to the long trips now  :p

Peace

tommy i kinda agree????

but like u said u started off at temple which is where i am guessing u cut ure teeth in as it were i know this as i used to play against u down there lol.

but my point is if temple had not been there would you be in the team ure in now flying all over the world playing the sport u love i know u've probably worked hard for it butwhat i'm saying is it's ure roots and at the moment for people coming into the sport down south there isn't anywhere.

i really am hoping that kieran and liz can make this dartford 7's site into something that will be around for a few years like temple was.

just my 2 bobs worth mr pemberton and look forward to seeing u at a tourney soon lol:D :D ;) ;)

regards

Apart from the Midlands, all the UK regions are covered just about the same. We have the 2K series mostly in the north (though many rounds of that are really in the midlands), we've got the SWPL in the South West, the Dartford 7s in the South East and the Midlands Masters/KOTH series for the Midlands. In addition there are 2 "national" series that have based themselves in the Midlands as well, as that's fairest on all teams.

There probably aren't really enough teams who want to play regularly in the South East to make it worth while there being more than one full series. Even with a permanent site it costs a fair bit to run a decent tournament so a minimum number of teams at each event is required, so the organisers can at least break even or possibly make a little money from it. If organiers could be sure that there were enough teams around (with enough money) to get 30-40 entries at every tournament more than once a month, then more series would spring up. Until then, I think we'll have to be content with one full series and a number of individual tournaments. At least we're better off than the Scottish or Irish teams - they have to travel for many hours to find any form of competition at all!

For sure

I agree with Tommy traveling is not that bad. The southern scene feel away for a reason. I think half of paintball is going away overnight we always have a laugh traveling or overnighting sure it adds to the cost but hell i love it:D

Mos deffinatly Jinx..

Temple was awesome because it was THE southern scene. I know the place was a ****hole with poor air but it was cool to go down there, chat some ball and shoot fools. That place used to be mine and the rest of Tha Knights second home, + alot of young, **** hot 'Ballers were raised down there (Sanchez, Teflon and Milktooth to name a few).

I think I was reffing at ure first tourney man  :D

That place was dying a quick death tho because of the poor setup :( If kieren & co. do it right then im sure they can turn it into the same sorta place (tho without the mud and 2k fills I hope ;) :p )

Cya around dude :)

Peace

New Paintball Tournament Series and Site

Fear not people, for there is a new paintball Tournament series due to start in the South. My partner and I are very near to completion, and hope to be announcing more very soon. The first of the new tournament series is planned to take place in the summer. The series will consist of between 4 to 6 Legs a years, held on a dedicated site, which caters solely for tournament players, NO Rec ballers.

We are planning to offer cash prices up to 3rd place for each leg of the series. There will be four sub air fields set up for 7-man games. We are also talking about making the fields available monthly or even fortnightly, for teams to come down and training. Team training will depend on the response we get from teams as to whether or not we do that.

Basically, people it is a new site that is solely aimed at teams and tournament players, when it is finished it will be hopefully caters for all the needs of you the players. We have held off from announcing any thing until all the marketing and contracts have been signed and we are fully up and running, but after reading the posts above I figured we give you and very brief insight as to what is planned.

It would be helpful if we could gage your reaction to our plans.
Q) Does the idea of a site solely built for teams and tournament appeal to people?
Q) Does the idea of cash prices at the end of each leg sound good?
Q) Would people want us to make the site available for team training on a fortnightly or monthly bases or not at all?

Please Pm me or reply to this thread and help us to make this new tournament series the best that it can be.
