just a question, if you dont play paintball then how did you find this holy place of paintball? :)

i enjoy paintball because of the rush of adrenaline, the feel of just pure fun out on the feel, laughing at the guy who's equipmwnt went down just before he was bunkered. the whole atmosphere is so friendly and great, everyone will lend a hand with something. if you walk up to someone at a tourney and ask them for help, they will help you if they can, and if not, they will point you to someone that can. the atmosphere is so good (aside from those who can swear faster the fire, i get 32 eps (expletives per seond) when hit!!)

how it comperes with computer games: it's a whole different ball game (o pun intended). the exitement, adrenaline, the fact that your not limited to computer inputs. if you want to jump over the bunker, fir your marker into the air and yell "CHARGE" the you can. love to see that happen in unreal tournament. one downside to paintball is that it has been known for people to get sun burn where there are vents/holes in their masks.

One simalarity there is between online fps games and paintball is no matter what you try and put in place to stop it there is always going to be people that cheat in both.

Paintball in general is a more sociable past time, although the CS clan I play for are are really friendly bunch, who play for the fun of it rather than being competitive.

FPS and any other computer games also do not help with your health at all, and the increase in popularity I think in gaming is going to cause a massive rise later in life for people for things like heart disease etc as our generation now a days are spending more time sitting in front of a tv or monitor then outside doing any kind of exercise.

My 2ps worth :)

I guess what attracts me to paintball is that it is a direct pitting of skill against another person or team, combined with the high-action high adrenaline nature of the sport/pastime.

How it compares to Games is interesting... In computer games I often feel that when I'm taken out it was due at least in part to the mouse not working properly or lag or whatever and that gets me angry, because I know what I am capable of. In paintballing, if I am hit, I know that it can't be down to anything other than a mistake by me or skill by the opponent. I have never been angry about being taken out in paintballing.
The other differences are kind of obvious, no computer game so far has the same kind of tactile feedback that paintballing has and that really puts you IN the game. On a similar note, paintballing requires a similar type of awareness of your surroundings and a similar restriction in your field of view (goggles ~ PC Monitor) but you are able to achieve that awareness using all of your senses.
