some FW2 HSE bottles now 5 years between tests

i think Denn earns the prize for digging up the oldest thread here, lol!

The pi mark has nothing to do with test periods. Thi Pi mark shows it conforms to TPED (Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive) which allows compressed gas cylinders (air and co2 both) to be TRANSPORTED by road/rail in UK and Europe,. Interestingly there is a derrogation to the TPED which allows a bottle solely used in the UK NOT to be pi marked... a mine of (un-)interesting information ain't i? lol!!

Oh and an addendum to the original post which started this thread last year... the 5 year test bottles have an initial (first) test period of 3 years which then is extended to 5 years for subsequent tests, so i believe.

ye summat like that, i've sent my definately angel air bottle off to test (hpac's charge to post back stings a bit mind, £14.60!) and the others i have are in test even if they 3 year so i'll ask 'em when i see em

but i'm looking to sell one of em to a mate and wanna be sure he's cool for a while so's he ain't gotta muck about

and hell,,, i'd just like to know for certain, it's bugging the hell outa me

oddly i have a fw1 guv air bottle that has a test label marked

UK fire int ltd

tested 10-04

next test 10-09

now where do that fit into all this then?

and an angel air 1.4 (fw2) with a similar sticker from a remar safety standards label stating 5 years to next test


confusing huh?
