some FW2 HSE bottles now 5 years between tests

some FW2 HSE bottles now only need testing every 5 years, according to Trev at Hpac.
To qualify for the 5 yr test period the bottle must have the manufacturers name of LUXFER or SCI and be a standard FW2 cylinder. Trev confirmed the same by email today. (This is applicable in UK i should add).

Bar the obvious, (i.e. saying Luxfer on it) how would I tell if a bottle is Luxfer or not?

The Luxfer logo is normally marked on co2 bottles, so I guess it would be the same for air bottles (if Luxfer is not marked).

The logo is basically four upwards pointing arrows in a two by two formation.

As i understand it, if it doesnt SAY luxfer it ISN'T Luxfer. Ask the HPAC guys next time you see em or contact them via their WEBSITE

Mines the same Paul. Just need to see whether i need to fork out on a test or not!

The Luxfer made tanks have luxfer written on its label. The SCI tanks are usually grey with a white label bout 2" wide round the bottle. The SCI logo is written in blue and white. The serial number will normally satrt ALT 756-.....on the SCI bottles. If u have a black coloured bottle like those on the angel air s, or a duel test bottle then they are usually made by Carleton and are a 3 year test. Their serial number starts 6151 - ...... Yup was told this at the Welsh Open to my surprise

As said above the SCI logo is about 2" by 3" on the bottle side, so its really easy too see

Most of the angel air bottles are still 3 year test if they are made by Carleton. The way to tell if its a Carleton bottle is, in the middle of the date there will be a large C, with an L inside it.
