I have only ever seen barrel socks..seems there more popular.

Sock every time. Barrel only last one shot and from there you are unprotected where a sock can take multiple shots!!

Sock definitely due to the fact that plugs are more dangerous as they can be shot out and that may harm other paintballers if fired towards them?

I've always used a sock, but then common sense seems to best all. Safety on, gun away and cased until the masks are on and everyone's near field.

Yeah, barrel sock all day, some sites wont let you use plugs also

Most sites i have been to have insisted on socks...
nearly got hit by someone shooting a plug out in a safe zone!
