Sociology Sucks Ass

Right guys time for a bit of a rant.

Last night I attended a party and at this party
I got talking to Chris (nexus-eclipse) about paintball
and tournys and stuff like that.

Imagin my surprise when my girlfriend comes up to us
hears what we're talking about and bursts out that
she had been talking about Paintball in collage that day.

It transpires the her scoiology teacher had been giving
a lesson on hullaganism and youth delinquants and
in his wisdom compaired the mentality of people like
that with that of paintballers :mad: !

Yes thats right ladies and gentlemen A level sociology
says that we are all crazy neandertals who run around
clubbing each other with our markers when we run out
of paint.

How on earth can paintball gain any kind of respect
with from the masses when ignorant, uninformed things
like this are being taught as the truth in our schools!?!?!

Get yer ass into some of them clases mate otherwise the people of Hull might take offence :)

Mind you, I think after being in this game for as long as I have, that tutor has a point :):)

You've got to understand that a lot of people are uneducated when it comes to just what tournament paintball is these days. Joe Public still bases what he knows from when he went to a punter site and played for a dat there in the woods, and as such he/she will think it is a hobby with the sole purpose of recreating military cirumstances and to mock killing people.

While some of this is caused by the rec sites that these people go to, as marshalls will reffer to markers as 'guns' and 'weapons' and to goggles as 'helmets' just for conveniances sake, although when i marshall, i do try to tell people the real name of the equipment, and always use correct paintball terminology, such as yelling 'eliminated' sooner than 'dead', but unfortunately the practise of milsim continues and as such opinions aren't going to change at any great rate :)

Actually, Neanderthals were very, very clever and not the slow-witted evolutionary-deadends that they're made out to be.

Maybe clever compared to what was originally thought about them but certainly not clever when compared to Homosapiens.

I mean, I never seen any differential calculus plastered across no cave wall in France :):)

Oh come on, hardly ignorant and uninformed..... or haven't you heard of books, TV, Radio and any other contemporary teaching media that allows us all to go places and see the world's discoveries and wonders for ourself?

And if you think about it, how on earth could I have made the statement I did without having some prior knowledge and I sure didn't get it by visiting no French cave, you get my point !!!!
Visitation by proxy I admit but still just as valid !
