ok, i am not tourney player, but i have a point to make. In that scenario you have in the first post, a clean shot like that was probably seen by the opposing player who called a check. He most likely has very STRONG suspicions about you honesty, and, next time you play with him and he has an open shot, he is going to really let you have it to ensure that he gets you. And who could blame him. This could be a big problem for me because i play 3 times a month with my friends. If i wipe, they will get me for it eventually. I also have a problem with getting hit and not being sure if it was a break. I usually just hide somewhere and check myself all over ASAP after getting shot. I am not a big guy on cheating, in anything. Remember it is just a game and you could easily lose friends, or at the least their respet by being a cheater.

Such as........

What?????????
I aint seen no million pound/dollar prizes in paintball yet (some nice jetski's but no big money).
All you get for winning is some recognition that you're a good team and the respect of the people lower down the paintball food chain:)

Cheat to win = cheat yourself

Always going with option A. If I know I am hit, Im out and it's gun in the air, quickest route of the field.

One of my teams first tourneys, was at Bullwood(love the woods). We didnt do so great but weren't dead last either. (Still blaming it on all the guns going down...LOL) But at the end of the day when they were handing out trophies. My team was honored to recieve a trophy for the "MOST SPORTING TEAM".

Which goes to show the tree most important rules to live bye;

HONOR- Taking pride in oneself and team by being honest and true.
COURAGE-Doing the right thing EVEN when noone is watching you.
COMMITMENT-Always giving it your best untill you cant anymore.

I can see your point Quick, but would a company that sponsers a team really want to support that team if they had to cheat to win.

I can see the advert now:

The new thingywotsit 4000. As used by the worlds best cheats, don't play on untill you have tried this.:p :D

I agree with Staysinshape. The most important trophy is the most sporting team (congrats on your winning it)

They do it cuz it works, what ever it takes to win to get the team with your sponsorship up there.

Personally, I think that sucks. Cheating wipers **** the game up. If I had any pull in the rules of a tourney, someone that was caught wiping, and it was 100% sure that they were wiping by a commendable ref, the team would loose the match.

I have never wiped in a game. The only time I did was when I was 8 years old and it was my3rd time playing. But that was a sloppy ass rec game in the woods.

When playing tourney ball, just make sure that you hit him a few times so if he does try to wipe, he will have a big mess on his hands and would be obvious to all. In tourney ball you probably do not know the guy you're kapp'n, so there are no hard feelings. I wouldn't recommend doing it in a game with your friends though; goggles come off real easy in a fist fight ;)

do the right thing

i sponsor the team i play for, as a sponsor i look for a team that is going to play fair, play hard and still play to win. i would like my team to get good results as it make me (as a sponsor) look good too.
however, i would drop them like a stone if those results came from cheating, pushing the rules or moaning like a bunch of kids on the field. a team with a good rep is worth more to me than a team that cheats to win.
so in a nutshell, cheating sucks, whats the point. if you get hit by a better player then learn from your mistake for next time.

You all sound so good, not cheating at all, I find it hard to believe that anyone would cheat. Free Halos all round.

So where are all those players we see at every game, those who disappear behind their barricades for a few minutes then pop up cleaner than when they got there.

I think more should be done to discourage cheating, better marshalling, disqualification and making it less socially acceptable. Ive heard plenty of players bragging about how many times they wiped last game.

And team mates, when players tell of their wiping achievements dont congratulate them, make them forfiet a game or scowl at them or something. I dont like the idea of having to totally paste a player just to make sure he cant wipe it off, its not fair and hurts like hell.

oh, cheating sucks, did I mention that?

My god, do i see a consensus forming here:D we all agree that we need better marshall's

But where are they going to come from, i know that a few forward thinking people are starting to train them up but it's no fun being shot at all day and then having to argue with the prima donna players who start saying the "i shot him 3 millieseconds before he shot me" argument.

If there was a course to train up the marshall's for tourny's i'd go and learn
But and it's a big BUT the players are going to have to start respecting the ref's decisions on the field and not give them a hard time over it. I would not stand still saying or doing nothing while some peed off player starts questioning my family tree.
If its a big mistake take it to the ultimate, if it isn't LIVE WITH IT and get on with life.

Anyway i'm off to feed and water my high horse:p

Catch you later
