Staying warm on a sunday!
on a field and in a team I feel I can be somebody and make a difference! in a quick fix sorta way!
plus its the ultimate competition, playing against another human who is trying to shoot you too!

sure as hell cant get that in everyday life!*

For me I do it for the adrenaline rush you get on the field & the comradeship of the other ballers.

Nowhere in no situation other than balling have I seen a stranger offer to lend another stranger ££££'s worth of equipment because they see he is having a problem with his gear...

I'm proud to be a baller!

Paintball is an adrenelin rush no matter what level you play at, but in tournament you have control of the moves you play and when the team is winning there's nothing that compares.. To beat a team you have no right in beating is chasing a Buzz you can't emulate anywhere else!!

It's the thrill of the game, knowing it can hurt when it goes wrong, but also it can sting someone else when it goes so right, both physically and emotionally!!! Losing hurts winning is everything!!!

As for the big events... Well it's the chance of playing Bigger Teams from different nationalities and representing the place you're from and most importantly, having more witnesses!!!

Which is all EGO!!
An extremely good commentary on what makes us play this game, and to describe it as 'primal' is exactly right .. it resonates back to a time when we live or died based upon decisions we made in everyday life .... paintball focuses this dilemma so intensely that people get an adrenaline rush much like the base 'fight or flight' responses when we are faced with impending danger .... it's a rush !!!!!!!!!!!

I highlighted that section of Ronnie's text because it is this opportunity that is now sooo lacking in Millennium events and in their rush [Millennium] to consolidate their customers [and also consolidate their income stream] they jettisoned this part of the game in favour of locked leagues where this anomalous confrontation doesn't happen .... if they want paintball to grow .. they need to reconsider this and so I shall keep bashing their heads together to try and get them to change their thinking ... I won't hold my breath though ...
