Its may because of the normal early start I had this morning that my mind wanders and starts to drfit towards the vagaries of paintball.....

I am curious as to what drives you guys to turn out regardles of weather to take part in this sport that we all enjoy. I guess it comes down to fun, social, competition or becuase you are striving towards a paintball goal.

So what is it that drives you to keep turning up, spending the money and supproting the various tournaments that exisit in the UK and Europe?

As a secondary question, for those of you that have played in non UK tournaments, what is it that these events offer that make you want to take part?

From my perspective it is all too easy to imagine that we understand what motivates people to play but sometimes it is worth taking a sense check to see if we are missing anything

Well for starters it's the buzz of the game itself been playing for nearly five years now and still enjoy it just ad much as the first time I played, if not more.

Social side definatley comes into it as well, all my team mates are ace as well as anyone else I've met at events.

I love the sport in it's entirity, if I'm not playing then I'll most likely attend to either observe play and pick up things I think I could improve on or just to have a bit of banter with the lovely fellow ballers :)

for me its the buzz of ball no matter how sh*t the weather is, if anything it makes it more fun, 2nd would be always trying to improve my ball and 3rd but most importantly is the friends ive made over the 5 years playing! especially playing for a team of which all the players are my age it makes it absolutely brilliant!

i guess when u actually think about it, i'd say its the human nature of striving for preselection... trying to be the best for no other reason than to say that you are. i know for sure i could be spending money on more important things (he says while sulking over uni books) but i think being out playing a sport you enjoy, with a bit of a rush and doing it with people you have a close tie to gives no better feeling when you can say it was all worth it. its one thing playing pball out with maybe 1 or 2 friends just for a bit of fun, but when you are competing with a whole team full of people you go through thick and thin with its a good thing to know that there was some point to it after all :)

Like it bolter lol...

And TBH i just enjoy it!! as soon as you cross the netting nothing on the outside matters anymore cus for that time that your playing all be it really short sometimes... its just u and your 5 mates working together all your problems go away!! plus it only comes round once a month or so and if you don't go 2 months without playing could cripple some of us....:D

It's Primal.. There's no better feeling than shooting someone in the face, but it's also the feeling of adrenelin you get just by thinking of shooting someone in the face!! That feeling of the training finally paying off, the feeling of knowing the other guy has trained hard but "Hey I got you Mother F*cker!! Train Harder Bitch!!!" Paintball is an adrenelin rush no matter what level you play at, but in tournament you have control of the moves you play and when the team is winning there's nothing that compares.. To beat a team you have no right in beating is chasing a Buzz you can't emulate anywhere else!!

It's the thrill of the game, knowing it can hurt when it goes wrong, but also it can sting someone else when it goes so right, both physically and emotionally!!! Losing hurts winning is everything!!!

As for the big events... Well it's the chance of playing Bigger Teams from different nationalities and representing the place you're from and most importantly, having more witnesses!!!

Which is all EGO!!
