Well...
You can't exactly borrow Fox's hockey puck without paying royalties to the patent holder, heh.
But technology DOES exist to put little transmitters in the grip frames of the markers, and to overlay dots on a field diagram based on where people's markers are. The transmitting/receiving equipment isn't that expensive at all, the computer to do the visual work a little more so.
That doesn't exactly automate turning the dots off when people are eliminated though.
