they probably just want immunity from SP patents. A clever move if it is actually going down like we are guessing it is.

Bit like chess on a massive scale.

Your move....

A warning shot is a good analogy.

Consider this:
you dont fire a warning shot unless you have more ammo to deliver the killer blow.

The issue about the alarm is quite simple, no alarm will work without a timer, no timer can be set up properly without an interface(display).

The patent also covers external input buttons and linking devices to your board, so if you can change any values on your board (ie debounce, dwell etc, pretty important stuff) you are in violation of a patent WDP has held and made public for a long time.

Its about time ! I have been wondering how long it would be before a few of the thousands of paintball patents came to light that conflicted with smart parts products and a company with some weight behind it took them at their own game.

I hope this is a warning shot and smart parts take heed of this. I dont want to see any paintball company go out of business , yes smart parts included.

Competition is good ! It keeps companies constantly striving in their R + D. labs to make better more advanced products for us to buy. This is the main reason paintball markers have gone from pump action toys to semi auto mowers with super computers inside them in just a few short years !

So ,smart parts, stop trying to screw over the smaller companies for a quick profit you are doing yourselves more harm than good with the bad publicity and lost sales, and focus your energy on what your good at .... making paintball markers.
