I wonder if a few people have actually seen these guns in the flesh!

Shocker - it's a bit heavier but because the body is low the centre of gravity is nearer the top of your hand, thus making it appear lighter than it really is, while the size difference give it an edge

PM6 - it's small but the DM6 wins out because of the frame.

DM6 - it is light but it's also long (relatively) front to back, so a kid with short arms might have a problem shouldering it. However a very going selling point that no one has mentioned is the ultra light frame. That means people with small hands don't have to try and grip right round a wide frame (can anyone say e-blade frame). this alone makes it worth a look.

Ego - balance wise there isn't much to beat it if you like magnetic triggers, or can afford a PL version.

Cyborg - is relatively small but the 4 I've seen haven't been all that balanced. Our gun tester found it back heavy. Def don't consider the old, slab sided ones as they were far too top heavy.

Defiant - very good gun for the price, it's stupidly light too and the only drawback is it's relatively high. I think starters who don't keep their face tilted down and their nose nailed to the body would like it because it puts the top of the gun, where it's natural to aim over, at about the right height.

Promaster - Check out the new Lasoya promaster, it's about $550 and has everything a Timmy pretty much has, It's shorter than a defiant I believe, and probably lighter too.

Infamous Timmy - It's light but not appreciably so than any other, and it has some very sharp cuts on the body. It also has a wide (front to back) grip which I find very comfortable but a kid might find too large.

Ion - it's really not that bad, plus there is so many aftermarket bits it's becoming the new 'cocker. If you did give him one as least his birthday and christmas presents are sorted for the next couple of years with new bodies etc!

Wrath LTD - it's new and haven't got my hands on one in the flesh. I liked the old wrath though (except the trigger). It does have a "fat" grip though.

My vote -

DM6 - worth a look if money is no object, the grip frame might be perfect for smaller hands.

Lasoya Promaster - ballin on a budget and has the PL appeal. small light and I like the gun it's based on so I'd be very suprised if they screwed it up.
