Why? Because I have astigmatism, or should say HAD astigmatism and it was suggested it was the way to get the best results.
I'm also an engineer. I was an expert in 3D scanning and CNC machining for many years so I knew exactly what they were talking (concept wise) about from different applications. From my engineering experience I liked what they were suggesting and felt it made a LOT of sense.
I had my eyes done about 20 months ago.
Mr Stevens, thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed response. Very informative. I appreciate that.
One question - do you have any problems with 'dry eyes'? I find that a pain with my soft contacts at present anyway, just wondered if is something you noticed better or worse since the operation.
Thanks also to the NHS related poster. However, I am also unsure there is any hard and fast evidence that spending years of your life (10 hours a day) with a thin film (e.g. contact lenses) over each eye will do your eyeballs much good in the long run. Would you agree/disagree on that?
For anyone else UK based who may be interested a great site to look at is
www.lasik-eyes.co.uk - a forum about the various procedures with good info from surgeons etc
