A hot first shot may be down to the board. On PM/DM's there is an ABS (anti bolt stick) setting which, when activated, causes your first shot after 15s to have an increased dwell which can lead to an increased velocity.

With it being reasonably decent weather now, you aren't likely to experience bolt stick providing you keep the bolt well lubed, so it can be turned off to reduce the risk of spikes.

Yup I'm aware of this and having a blackheart board it is relevant, however, I'm sure it is set to zero, but will check before my next day out this sunday... THE BIG GAME!!!
