If your bottle screws into the max-flo normally ie clockwise then you will not need any converters...the air valve for the max flo has a reverse thread on it, try a bottle and then you will know. The converter would only be needed if you were puting CO2 into an air valved bottle before you connected it to the max-flo...please note that this only applys to Shockers not any other marker for the use of CO2, in-case someone else was reading this and was confused.

Shocker

It will have a maxflow the same as mine I guess? If so it will be fine on CO2, just screw it in and go. The drop should have an asa connected to the maxflow with a macroline? Wouldn,t run it without a filter though. Smartparts have a sale on them at the minute. Also make sure you buy some dow corning 33 as mentioned earlier.;)

Thanks guys. About the dow corning - could I get it from Maplins or something? Every site I've seen it on have been charging between 5-10 quid for a tiny little tube of it, seems a bit outrageous to me.

Dow 33 is Dow 33 that is the type and brand name........if you can get it cheaper than a paintball site then buy it, that was always one of the niggles with the maintence of Shockers with the cost of "Shocker grease"

There are other grades that "may" work but considering that you can buy Dow Corning 33 cheaper from people other than paintball suppliers then keep with Dow 33...plus even with the cost issue Smart Parts kinda insists that this particular lube is the one to use...there is a white grease very similar in fact I "believe" that when you buy the motor industry version of Dow 33 it is white against the pink that the paintball version comes in...check out the Dow Corning website for full technical (if any) differences.
