Shocker modes question

Ok here i go again about my NEW shocker!!! well its secondhand and i didnt get a manual. The guy who sold it told be that the switch on the front switches between semi-auto (switch at centre position) and turbo mode (either of 2 positions left or right of centre) Is that correct or does the third position of the switch offer a third mode? seems illogical to have 3 switch positions for only 2 modes. Explain pls shocker owners!!!!

It is right only if you have the lever switch installed if it is a dome switch then the 3 position switch does something completely different. Oh and if it is the first then the answer to why is..."it just does".

How do i know if its a dome or lever switch? What do they look like???? (Domes & Levers i guess?) any easy way to tell...if it is a dome then what does the third position do?

If Dome then centre is semi, left is 3 shot burst, right is full auto or the other way around but depends which way you are holding the Shocker, if you fit a Hypersports frame to a dome switch Shocker the first thing it tells you to do in the installation manual is to connect the wires in a certain sequence (the first sequence gives you full auto) but to be sure which switch you have ..if you have an LED on the front by the selector switch then you have a dome switch, if no LED then it is the lever switch.

Just a Quick note might save you about 10 years in prison !!!!
The shocker you have sounds like an S/F turbo ,the switch on the front is like you say in the middle it is semi,left is 3 shot burst with Turbo and right is fully automatic with Turbo which is totally pointless !!!

Back to the Illegal part if you are found in possesion of ANY Gun that can fire fully auto the you are breaking the law under section 5 of the 1938 fire arms act preventing the ownership of a fully auto matic weapon by the General Public .
So you have 2 options
1) DON`t broadcast the fact you have this Marker
2) Get someone who Knows what the`re doing to un- solder the little three way switch from the circuit board thus making the marker Legal in this country!

PPs I also had one of these markers but without the Turbo and when I sold it I had to take the switch off the front.

Darren, I thought the same thing But as the description as to where the switch was in relation to what it did, it sounds like a L/S board...the description I gave was for as you say a S/F ...mine was, as it was bought in Canada but I removed the switch before I got on the plane to come home (and removed the board from the marker aswell) after talking to Smart Parts on the phone (states not england) all 4x4 can be converted to S/F and a S/F with the switch removed becomes a 4x4..., turbo is dependant on the correct chip being installed (regardless of the dip switch for turbo being present) I then replaced the board completly with an L/S board.
Just a sorta side note these forums are read by non-english people so I felt a full description of the various "flavours" was in order...and the note about the Hyper sports frame was an attempt to let people know that it is known what that frame can do if assembled as per instructions....some just state how fast it is now, well it can do a little more than speed

Hi guys thanks for the info. Darren i'll give you a call soon... As far as i know this shocker was sold to its previous owner by SmartParts Bexley. Surely they shouldnt sell an illegal shocker? I was also told by the owner that SmartParts themselves had done all the upgrades as he wasnt that technical & didnt try it himself. I tried the turbo mode today (not in a game, just at site firing range) it seems to stay in semi-auto mode if i keep it to under about 3bps but if i take the rof up to about 5/6 bps or more the turbo kicks in & adds extra shots. So as long as i keep up the higher rof i can get off appx 12/14bps by firing at about 6/7bps rate. I didnt get a chance to try the third switch option as my air ran out & i havent got my tank yet. I read in a review, i think on the p8 website that this mode is called 'super-semi' and that smartparts had managed to evade the full auto ruling by adding this mode???? Now i'm confused. My understanding is strictly one trigger pull = one ball. Bugger! Turbo is cool!

the switch on the front of your gun has three positions, the right is turbo, left is non-turbo, simple. the middle setting does nothing.
dont worry you dont have an illegal marker. The third position is for when you DO have a S/F board.

Stop scaring him darren, they have enough things to worry about like when they play us
