Hey guys,

Has anyone ever had any problems with eclipse shockers just dying in the wet? My nice shiny new one was all happy this weekend until it started peeing down on Sunday. After a few games, my lovely shocker just up and died. After shaking it and turning it upsidedown, I got a few more shots out of it, then it just died again. After taking it to pieces and finding nothing actually wrong with it, it started working again. Afdter a few more games of exemplary performance, it died again. At home, half an hour on the radiator and it works.

So, has anyone had the same problem and did they manage to fix it?

Thanks,

Tom

PS Yes I tried changing the battery. It is an LS board on CO2

Bruce,

As mentioned in the PS, it was on CO2. And although I could hear the LS switch clicking (like when the shocker is switched off) the solenoids were not clicking - hence my assumption that the board was shorted or similar. It was the same when I got it home, so it cant have been frozen up as it would have thawed out on the way home, so water is the only reason I can think of. But I'm really looking for other possibilies or ideally someone who has experienced this and knows the solution.

Regards,

Tom

Added - Just remembered, the red light on the back was ON, so the battery was supplying power to the board, just not getting to the 'noids.

Hi dude

the reason behinf my questions, was i had a similar problem a couple of weeks back in my shocker. I that it had a complete fit during a small rain shower. Which i think was down to the solinoids getting damp on the conections. This i seem (fingers crossed) to have solved by putting some more hot glue around the connections on the solinoid and then giving them and the board a slight covering of Dow33. rember to put some around the connection where the solinoids plug into the board

cheers

as well as hot glue if you go to a place like maplins you can get the wax that boards are often covered with, it is easier to remove as it can be rubbed off, unlike the glue which is thermo setting.
