team s.w.a.t. not doing the series

hi steve,
i have presented the answers you gave to rob, he strongly feels that there is a bias towards non zap sponsored teams in the series, theam s.w.a.t. is not the only team that has experienced the biased, as well as the manchester marshalls being biased towards manchester based teams, he was not satisfied with the answers as when brought up on the day, he felt that he was fobbed off.
without naming names and its of no concern to me anyway, as i dont play for the team certain players are very dissatisfied in the way the series is being run, with this rob has advised me to advise you team s.w.a.t. will not be doing the series this year as a protest , rob has decided to enter the whole series of midalnd masters as a alternative, sorry to be the pigeon, i dont want a flame war or slagging match but i am just passing this protest along as most of the team have not got net access.
so if any feedback is necessary, take it up with them no me, as i am busy building site 2,
cheers steve, and yes im still your mate.

I know you are posting this for your team mates but your reply was a personal insult to myself, Bully,Tracy and the rest of the teams who play the series 2k4 and because I do not have to be as nice as bully or the others who run these events and as a representative of the Manchester marshals I can say what utter bollocks your statement was.

I would add that I am sorry you are taking the action you have said and I am sure you will have a good time at the MM however all decisions made on the day are made with no favour to any team at all we have only one thing in mind at our events and that is the best team wins and any referee who does not do what is fair would not ever be allowed to ref again at our events.

It seems strange that the group of refs you have called in question do not play anymore at tournament level and have got their own sponsorship deals from a few sources and more importantly have been voted the series marshals of the year for the last four years.(as voted by the teams themselves)
Perhaps it might be because they do as the rules state and it was made very clear in the morning that we would not wait for any teams who were not at the fields when they should.

I hope and expect more people who know the Manchester marshals and know what they stand for come on here to dispute your remarks.

biased calls are not always biased calls.

I witnessed several bad decisions, but these were made in the thick of balls flying all over the place, but these were calls that were badly judged, or players carrying on when hit and only being pulled off the field after they have taken a player or 2 out.

But to say the marshalling was biased is a bit harsh. try marshalling these tourneys yourself, and see how many bad calls you make.

Marshalling punters is bad enuff, but when u have 14 hairy-arsed ballers blasting at anything that moves is obviously gonna be a bit more hectic. I for one know i wouldnt do as good a job as these guys.

instead of moaning and bitching, support these guys, if they decide to stop marshalling events, there will be a severe lack of quality events to play at.

Nothing like burning your bridges behind you, and getting other people to wash your dirty laundry out in public.

I felt I had replied to the questions on p8ntballer and feel I gave answers on the day. I have total confidence in the Manchester Marshals and feel your teams criticism in unwanted and unfounded.

I wish the team good luck at the MM.

I would not shot the messanger as I am a s.i. shot !!!

Site 2 another expansion!!!

russ / and the gang

russ, these are not my views as i have never had a problem with the manchester marshals or any players in the series, i played two games last year and enjoyed it very much so. the critisism was that of rob our team captain, i have always had full respect for you and your crew including tracey and kell if fact everyone.
as i said dont shoot the pigeon, burning bridges i tend to agree the decision is harsh, not one that i would have made if i were the captain, but not my bag im afraid, i will print off this for rob to mull over, but being a 60 year old player, decisions made would be thought through.

on a lighter note, yes steve we have a new venue in north wales approx 8 miles past halkyn, at afonwen, 20 acre site and yes £250.00 a month not the £900.00 a week we were paying for halkyn, i will advise you when its up and running so you can come and have a look
cheers

Explanation

Somewhere on these threads I have posted an explanation or I did it when I had a problem with my computer and it never got posted.

As per the last three series

Division A get 12 --- 7 points
Division B etc.... 10-----5 points
The expection to this is when we have more than 4 divisions and then the top two division will be 12....7 and all other 10...5

The reason is simple, all teams should have the target to get into the A division and then get more points. Another reason is in the "old" NBP event days we found that a team could "play" the divisons and do well (not by ability) in the series by winning B and then getting relegated at the next event back to A, so we stopped it by giving a points advantage to the A.

Bonus points are usually awarded to the two finalist in the play offs, but since there were no play offs we awarded the points based on the number of eliminations against the team, the lowest number getting the points (I did mention this at the presentations)

I hope this explains the system - so now you need to get in the A division and win the play offs. See you at the next event
