Sorry about the delay in correcting a couple of errors on the series score sheet this has now been updated.

http://www.tournamentpaintball.co.uk/series2004scores.htm

The next leg is at Elsham on 15 February and the early entries can be found at

http://www.tournamentpaintball.co.uk/teamnews.htm

If you want to confirm your entry either post here, PM or e mail me

Event details

http://www.tournamentpaintball.co.uk/february.htm

Just to confirm the top four teams at the last event have a box of paint in credit for the next event (if you don't play I will make sure the box gets to you - courtesy of Severe/Atmosphere) No one won the "guess the division" winners so at the next event the prize will be 4000 paintballs.

Also there will be double the paint prize from Phoenix/Zap as their sponsorship deals had not be sorted out when we held the first event so Barry will be giving double the paint at the second event.

Finally thank you to the UK Jaguars for marshalling the first event and then donating a large portion of their wages to charity. For those who did not see the presentation at the Skirmish event the over35's charity event presented £3,400 to the Macmillan nurses. (Looking forward to the 2004 over 35's event 21/11)

Steve:)

just a few points steve

the lads have asked me to raise a few points re the tournamnet in january, i was not present due to site commitments.
on the timed game sheet the lads were on what they believed to be a buy, the left the safe zone at 12.10 to go to the field to play at 12.15 and were greeted by inferno's rob coming the other way who commented by saying they had forfeited the game due to no show, this was brought to your attention, and no conclusive answer was given, in a similar situation kellys were late for their feild (not on a buy) but late and you chased them up to be on the feild, again this was brought to your attention and no constructive answers were given,
can you clarify the points on what the timed sheets and buys actually are, if a field is running ahead , are the marshalls allowed to bring the game due times forward ?
not trying to stir up a **** storm, but im sick of the lads bitching at me about biased marshalls. not that im playing these days, but im the only one with net access on this forum.
delete this post if you feel it's in the wrong place
cheers paul

Captains meeting

At the Captains meeting all teams captains were told about the situation with regards to the format. The marshals were also told to keep the games flowing so teams played all the rounds.

The teams were given the choice of being on the field on time or if the event was delayed the last round of games would be forfeited due to the light etc.... We started about 10 mins late so were playing catch up from game 1 - by mid morning we were on time. The start times are the start times of a group of games - the start time on the sheet was 11.45am There were NO byes on the fields the xxx on the sheets were due to the in balance in games, 4 games on three fields would mean one field had two games and two fields had one game. To make the sheet readable I put xxx were the in balance occurred.

Assuming an 8 mins game then the round your team would be playing would have started just after noon, their game would have started at 12.05 but they were in the safe area. At 12.15 they arrived at the field and the next game was being set up therefore they forfeited the game.

When I came back into the safe area with Gilly (I think) he said he was after Kelly's so I called Kelly's as well, the field was 20 minutes AHEAD of schedule so they could afford to wait for the teams.

On the conclusive issue - I confirmed they had forfeited the game at the time !!! I also confirmed the field was ahead of time and that is why I chased Kelly's !!!

Biased marshalling - it does appear your team are they only team to my knowledge who feel the marshalling is biased.

Incidentally at this tournament I employed a "runner" who updated a board at the entrance to the playing area approx every 10 minutes with which game was being played on which field so teams could see how the event was progressing and to make sure they were on the field on time. I wanted the teams to get the maximum games and felt that the runner updating the board would keep teams informed. If the team had looked at his they would have seen which game was playing and been on the field in plenty of time.

We played 144 games on the day and as far as I am aware only one game was forfeited. We did not play the finals (3 games).

I am sorry that your team feel the marshalling is biased and that they forfeited a game for no show and I did not give them a conclusive answer. Maybe this posting answers some of the questions

Were all there to play.......

on the timed game sheet the lads were on what they believed to be a buy,
the left the safe zone at 12.10 to go to the field to play at 12.15 and were greeted by
inferno's rob coming the other way who commented by saying they had forfeited the
game due to no show
The decision was not made by us we were there to play and wanted to play the game.
No offence to your team (most of them I have played alongside, and all are very good players)
we were expected to win the game giving us 100 points, as it was we only got 90 for the forfit
which cost us 2nd place!!!
Anyway my point is we were there ready to play the game and it was in no way our choice
for the marshalls to call the game.
See you at the next one and hopefully we can play this time.....
:) :)
