Well that's your opinion and you have a right to it.

His side of the story is somewhat different. You received it the 25th of may and didn't get back in touch with him until 9th June so I'd say you had ample time to test the marker out and make contact. His take is that you had ample time to fiddle with the marker and ruin it by yourself. Who am I to believe? Someone is likely embellishing the truth somewhat but who am I to say which one of you it is? I don't know either of you, neither of you have a history on this forum from which I can form an informed opinion.

End of the day you sent money and scrimped on the fees which are there for YOUR protection. You paid for and received marker, outside of that there's nothing I can really do.
