Ive got a 45K 68 pure energy tank.

On sunday i got my tank filled, and it started to slowly leak out of the nipple. It stopped after about 5 seconds. Then I got it filled later on and it started to do the same leak, but it wouldt stop. ITs not a fast leak, it took about 6 hours for the tanks to go from 3000 to 0. It leaks out of the fill nipple.
Anyone know whats going on?

it probably wont be "dirt" but a shaving off the fill station quick release or from debris in the air itself (which is suprisingly common, especially with compressors)

just take it off, clean with lint free cloth NOT tissue and very lightly grease before reassemble it - I bet that would cure it.

Do you mean i should clean it inside the nipple or around where the nipple screws in?

How would I clean inside the nipple? I could use a q-tip but that would leave a paper residue.

clean inside.

look at this

You see that part with the white o-ring? - you'll have something similar in yours and it's that bit that needs cleaning, plus the inside of the nipple itself. What that cylinder does is move up and down inside the nipple itself. When there is no pressure coming in, it pushes "out" and seals, when you are filling (so the pressure coming in is greater than that inside the tank) it is pushed down enough to let air around it and therefore fill you tank - it's a simple check valve. On your's if you took it apart, cleaned it all and reassembled it - then i bet your leak would stop.

Just make sure you put the cylinder back in the way it came out :)

That same thing happened to my cousin and it turned out to be the nipple Oring. Check that, clean it, put some teflon tape on it, put it back and see if it stops.

Well if you have got dirt or metal in there, you may as well take this opertunity to strip down the reg and clean/lube the whole thing to ensure that nothing cuts anymore o-rings or gets into your marker.

Be careful.
