What's this with "unobvious hits" being subject to 141 calls?

I just looked over the latest version of the rules on the MS website, and there seems to be no change

Did I miss something?

Hey Nick

Laurent said that the rule change would be implememtned when the Rules comittee finish updating and reviewing the rule book.

Laurent explained that the reasoning was that players with hits should not be in the game. Any hit should immediately end the participation of a player in a game. Even if he/she does not know, they are playing on and having a profound effect on the outcome of the game.

Broken Arrow - Yes if you fail to call the ref over to check you immediately.

Personally I was against the rule when I was asked my opinion on it in Madrid, but after rethinking it, and assuming that it is applied fairly across the board, I think it is a good rule.

It sounds too harsh in some respects and in others it sounds fair.

In balance it probably is a good step forward and takes some of the grey area away.

I'd like to see how it works and certainly support Sam's caveat about how it is applied.

If your hit and playing - 141

However if you are hit in an area where you would know - ie consciously playing on the 241 should be the norm

I understand the ruling. To be fair and honest, there arent many occasions where you don't know you have been hit.

As long as refs are more pro active, it could work. I had a ref watch me at a PA, and saw me get hit on the pack, I didnt feel it, and he pulled me with the Sosta rule. I sort of agreed that I was playing on unwittingly, and got my ass in the dead box. That was fine (ish) until he told me after the game that he waited until I played on to pull me!

lol, he was very polite though, and I dont think he realised what he was saying.

My point is that as long as refs can use some discretion, then it could work a treat.
