Depends how you approached it, i enquired as a sportsman and all they ask is that the bags are secure and go through the x ray and the bottles are depressurised.

Maybe its a case at ryan air that the left hand aint chatting to the right hand!!

Guys

I have flow with my paintball kit many times with no problems (never with RyanAir though) but if you are still worried I will happily offer a couple of options.
First up, you could ship them to me as I will have a trade stand at the Open and another box of things to take is hardly a big deal.
Or, I have a shipment leaving England from Draxxus next week for the competition and you can add your gear to that, you would just have to get it to Draxxus.
Its up to you, personally I'd just take it on the plane and not mention it.

Jeez!!

I can't believe such a fuss has been made over flying out to Spain with kit!

We flew 8 times last year, atleast 5 of which were with Ryan Air and never had a problem. Talk about a whole can of worms

I just hope a new set of checkin people are working on the Friday and you lot are a distant memory to them so we can check in 'as per usual' with our fragile sporting goods!

Please don't keep reminding them that a load of paintballers are gonna be passing through the airport in a couple of weeks.

This could effect tournies later in the year, millenniums are expensive enough without having to fly BA.
