Ok people, I know every one must be sick of this, but how the hell can Ryanair be such arses about this. I vote that every one gets on to thier local newspapers and get's some bad press for Ryanair. What do people think??

Hmmm... I could see it turning into a 'Airline refuses weapons on board' rather than a 'Evil ryanair victimises sport' headline :(

Its hard enough to get the press to print stuff about paintball, because it ain't recognised as a sport by the public, and is still percieved as a load of blokes in camo in the woods by the vast majority.

So a case of giving them bad publicity would require the public to be sympathetic towards the cause, and with its current perception as a whole I don't think that would be possible.

I think it really sucks that Ryan Air aren't allowing your markers. . . its not fair that paintballers need to travel the high priced airlines to get their markers to travel easily. . .

My husband was recommended by Air Canada (who we fly with when we go home) not to say anything about the gun, just dismantle your marker and pack it well in your checked luggage.

To the defence of RyanAir, I'm pleased they have rules and are sticking by them. . .

If every person who forgot to put away their tweezers, multi tool or nail file was allowed to bring them on board - then problems happen. Sorry thats just the way it is now.

Best thing to do like we are is still go and see what happens when you check in i got a feelin that because certain people have made an issue of pestering the hell out of Ryan Air for an answer to if they would allow markers on thier flights it has been a knee jerk decision upstairs by someone who doesnt know what it really entails just go, check in, say nothing about whats in your luggage, carry a copy of P.G.I in your bags incase of questions cos i doubt that the people on the check in will know anything about it left hand not knowin what the right hand is doing!!!

If worse comes to worset then fly out with Easy Jet later that day ;) but if people are gonna get stopped by Ryan Air theres gonna be alot of peed off 'ballers that someone is gonna have to answer for their miss guided actions

I think that firstly getting bad press for the Ryan air peeps would backfire, as most people would read it as ryan air were not letting guns into their cargo holds, that would get Ryan air a lot of safety browny points. Secondly i cant believe that people did not listen to the countless number of people on these boards who advised (backed up by years of travelling on planes with paintball gear) to merely keep your mouoths shut and dont say anything. Why peopl ehad to alert the airlines is beyond me inthe wake of many people saying that there was no need to say anything. How often do airlines say at check in "excuse me sir, do you have any paintball guns in these bags?". Why peopl ehad to lit the fire is beyond me. If you are gonna ask for advice then why ignore people hwo have experience and make life hard for yourselves and others?

Just let this drop

To everyone going to Spain next week with Ryan Air just go to the airport check in say nothing and enjoy the flight and lets stop worrying about it and play 'ball in Spain ffs

Hopefully it will put this issue to rest once and for all and dont ring Ryan Air anymore it will only cause more grief:rolleyes:
