All of the advice given will work but ,take things slowly.Ive all different sizes of cross head screw drivers but i find my leathermans all ways does the job, another thought is a pair of mole grips, thats if there is enough to get a grip.

ABERDEEN Brrrrrrr.....
If there is any kind of shape left in the screw head at all then try a slightly bigger allen key, even if it is metric an imperial may fit tighter.

Otherwise, I have also done what Mr Stokecity suggests - the Torx bits can "Grab" any trace of corners well.

If you've got a completely round hole, then you will have to either cut a slot with a hacksaw to use a screwdriver - Or use a centre punch like Tom suggests. The only problems with the punch is that it could slip, and damage the frame, or if you don't hit the head on the side enough (to turn it) you could damage the thread in the body - but if done right - It will work.

Cheers - and good luck

similar to what tim said about the hacksaw but u could use a dremel, might be a bit more accurate, but use it on slow speed, or if you're anywhere near hatfield at the weekend i'll give it a bosch for u...:D

i always strike the head first vertically to get a good mark, then angle the centre punch to drive the head round.

Yes, you have to make a start mark first with the centre punch, then angle the punch to drive the screw out.
You'll only need to loosen the screw with the punch then it'll come out easily by hand.
