Rookie mistakes???

I am ashamed to admit I have done it all:

Shot my own captain in the back of the head at a Millenium event.

Started a game with all these at some point: air off/no paint in hopper/hopper not turned on/intellifed hopper not connected

Tried to pot up with an empty pot still lingering in my pack from last game

Goggled my own player cos he looked at me round a barricade (I see that as his fault)

Lost my battlepack running up a field

Managed to get CO2 bottle stuck on fill station at Campaign Cup, had to run out to field where my team were waiting to get help, ran back to fill station, got bottle off, ran to field just in time for game on, broke out and as its one of those games over in 45 seconds, ran all the way up the field, ran the flag back and promptly threw up.

Playing at a woodland tournament years ago, got lost running through the woods to primary bunker

Playing at the PA had to borrow a cocker for a game (cos I had forgotten to charge my Angel), broke out, pulled the trigger, the cocking rod shot out the back, crawled out under fire to get it, put cocker back together, couldnt turn Halo on as I had never used one before, finally got everything working and managed to shoot three players and run the flag.

BUT:

Best one I ever saw: Playing the Birmingham Indoor, one of our boys left in four on one, we thought game over. NO! he snap shot every one of them out, two of them left handed and then HANGS OUR FLAG IN THEIR BASE.

Hey Tony, you watch out for Hermitt, you may be his captain but he will still shoot you for the flag:p :D

Now that you've reminded me about the not turning hooper/gas on yeah i done that a few times. mainly when trying to conserve batts so turn the hopper off after a game and forget to turn it back on, or a hose is leaking somewhere and is annoying, so turn the gas off and forget about it till the break out. those break outs are always so much fun.....Game ON! 1 shot, 2 shots, maybe even three shots and then nothing, followed by desperate scramble to your bunker praying not to get shot so that you can turn everything back on to try and redeem yourself.:D

My first electro was a bungalow sized shocker and at my first event using it I managed to shoot myself point blank in the palm of the hand whilst trying to clear paint from my barrel ports:eek:

Not only that but I tried to play it cool and pretend like nothing had happened until one of my teammates looked at me and asked "did you just shoot yourself in the hand?"
Busted:p

go shot once on the front side of my pack around the stomach, was one the 45 and got hit by a guy on the 50, so i stood up and walked off. got into dead zone to find that it had bounced...wasnt too popular with my team hehe

shot in the nads during a 2v1 (i was the 1) when making a break from the back right to move up on them. hit my dead on the mummy-daddy button, so hit the deck and rolled off the field...to find it had bounced.

so i slowly walked back to dead zone but fell to one knee before i got there due to pain :p. had my head down when a guy came running round the bunker and mugged me...

Back in the days before the one field within miles of me that ran tourney's closed down, I was there playing my second three man with two friends, both of them borrowing my gear (busy day for me), and it's like the third game of the day. For the first time since the night before, all the guns are working and we're playing right fine if I do say so myself. We got one of their players off the break, so I go diving into the center 50, only to be informed that the other side is filled with an opposing player. So, as quick as I hear it, I go over the top of the barricade for what would have been the most crowd (and myself) pleasing mugging of the entire tourney, pop off three shots, duck back to my side, and realize I hadn't shot any paint, as I had accidently flicked my hopper switch off on the the way into the bunker. Then if that wasn't bad enough, wee moments later that same game I'm coming out the left side of the above mentioned barricade, my team mate, spotting a hopper poking out and thinking it belongs to the above mentioned opposing player, shoots me twice in the hopper and takes me out for the game. Like a well oiled machine, we were :D
