bulldog if youre ego is kicking that much you aint set it up right dude...mine hardly kicks at all but i must admit i've felt ions with literally no kick at all.

But chris is right about the ego, they are jus awesome markers...very easy to setup and shoot fast, very, very easy maintainance and the user interface is the best i've ever used, pick up a cheap 05 for £300-£400 and you'll not be sorry!...and best of all no ups required (ion needs its value again thrown at it before it can be competitive IMO)

The Ion is good in that it gives tourney level performance for the masses. However you cannot compare it in feel / quality / class against the ego.

In terms of kick the ego is minimal. Wind the lpr in 1.5 turns from flush and you are on to a winner! Delrin pins / ti rammers lower kick even more so.

I own an 05 / 06 ego and will not be changing markers for a long time!

The ion, on the other hand, is paintball engineering taken to a beautiful level

Lets get real buddy. It is a marker that is built with low production cost in mind. As a result the components are very basic BUT do the job. I have owned an Ion and agree that they are reasonable markers. No more no less.

Spectators of the Dye field at the recent NSPL event saw an ego feedneck shear off.

If the lower feedneck bolt is torqued too much it will cause the feedneck to weaken and break under any form of stress. Commonly known as 'pilot error.'

I wasn't waiting for agreement and I didn't ask for validation. I've owned both and played with both for a while, and was saying how I see it.

The max ROF on an 06 Ego is 40bps according to the LCD screen. Fastest i've ever got with paint is 19bps in a second, not between the fastest 2 shots.
With the debounce on 3 you can set the trigger how you want and its pretty damned hard to get it to bounce, but 15bps is still achieveable.
