California certainly would've been a long way to go for a tryout... Avalanche has been practicing at the same field as I've been at for the past month... time to see if they've jelled enough this week... there's a big downslope on the "open" side of the practice field and I think some people took perverse delight in assuming "sniper" positions as they were hiding from the rain of paint accidentally coming our way. After awhile, most of us just took to dodging the paint or hiding behind other people as we're watching...I'm 5'2" and I'd turn around and find 4 people hiding behind me...you'd think the backmen'd learn that if alot of the spectators started to scramble one way or another, that something was going on that they wouldn't like...I know the subject's been beat to death already, and I am blind, but I dont' remember seeing Rocky at any practice.
