Andy, don't lie
dude only about 5 of them had to be changed a little bit, mine included in that, most of them were fine. how many of your guns bounced
It's true that pretty much every one of the Sharks guns was bouncing when they were first tested, and they were all re-tested and passed.
Most of Philly's guns did not pass the first test, however they did all pass after a re-test.
However Something was done to the guns mid game to enable a ramping function that was not present when they were first presented to the chrono judge.
Eric Deerman's gun passed the first chrono test, but was altered signifigantly in some way that after 10 minutes of play he was pulled for an illegal gun. I was shooting shots well after the judge removed his hand from the trigger. His gun wasn't the only gun ramping either, any member of tigers AM, Big Pete Martin, Peegee, PGI sharks, and UK Jags all witnessed these guns up close ramping like crazy. Even Kennith Borg, the Head judge, and Steve Morris admitted that there was something very suspect about the consistency in the extremelly high rate of fire, but neither official would suspend the players without a device that would give evidence to a ramping funcition being used.
In short, we run the risk of UK players picking up these guns (which Philly were selling) and using them here in the UK.
I don't know how the police would interpret a gun that had an assisted firing mode, that was not strictly full automatic, but not one trigger pull = one shot. But there's one thing for sure, these functions in boards will make it to Europe, and the game could signifigantly change both from a fairness prospective, and a legal prospective.
And i may change the way we play the game too, games will get way more static, as any halfwit with a gun that can maintain 12 bps can shoot a rope of paint and cut down the opposition as they try to move... this could be one of the problems that befalls Nexus in the states (with their ultra agressive style, it makes it easy for goober teams to sit back and cut them down as they try to move on them). Consider the static nature of the NPPL Pro games from the last tournament. I mean it works well in x-ball because you have more bunkers and less players, so crazy rof helps keep the game dynamic. But they did have to add the pins to the x-ball field to cut down on the cross field shots and give players a chance to actually make some moves. But 7 man you have 4 more guns on less field space, well the game is going to get more static...
And from a safety issue; if one can programme a Rate of Fire Ramp, what's stopping them from raising the Dwel too, and creating a velocity ramp? Nothing, except the moral obligation to the safety of fellow players. And we all know how moral some paintballers are...
