I get what you say about being close to a public area, but does anyone know how close this is? also what if you have some of this protective netting that is used In tournaments at the sides so that people can watch the game without masks on. what if u use this netting to cover the whole of the side which is facing the public area? can it be used even with the problem with stray balls that may go over the top!

Im just wondering this due to the fact I was hoping to set up a feild in my field but the side of the feild I was think of useing was next to a road and I was thinkin of using this netting for protection, this would be just an area for my mates to play on quite regularly!

in short ... possible traffic distraction hazard...

I recon you'd need to have a word with the local council or police to check... because what you may find is that people running around holding what look like firearms could distract the traffic because they can see in and it may be construed as a safety hazard and come under highways byelaws. Do a search on highways byelaws etc that may give more info.
