remotes (again)

your mom

wears army boots
umm, maybe not a popular subject, but i thought i'd bring it back to life here. for some reason my thread on remotes in the speak your brains forum is GONE completely, and i don't know why.
this tread is to ask your opinion on remotes. i said i used a remote in the last one, but since then i've stopped using it. now i stick my 20 OZ right onto the marker.

what does everyone think of remotes?

I have a remote to a gas threw stock on my minimag and i love it. The only problem is it takes getting used to shoot opposite side. O ya I have a coil not steel so i like running with mine because it is flexible.

?!

Anyhow - matter of preference. Remotes are good for keeping liquid CO2 out of markers that don't like it, especially when you're playing in cold weather. Also some markers shoulder really well with a gas through stock, so you might find a marker better to aim and shoot without the gas bottle in your way - all a matter of taste.

Remotes can stick out, and they can cronk your back if you slide in on them, so in fast-paced bunker-hugging tourney games they've all but died a death, but you still see a good few of them at walk-on/scenario days. If unsecured they can also feel bulky and unstable but with an army surplus yoke/harness and plenty of velcro (sounds a bit kinky) - you won't notice it's there.

Remotes,

Unless you use a stock of some kind then you can't really keep steady whilst firing as the kick of the marker moves it around.

Personally I've never used one and funnily enough never will!

I just bought a pump (Sterling) and are mounting a remote system... It feels very weird, but I haven't actally got to play with it - It seems nobody where I have been playing had a Chrono that worked... And I just know it is way too hot to start shooting at people
What it does is make your gun feel much lighter and easy to sling around (as long you aint stuck with the coil...)
BTW I have a stock mounted too, which can be swung down under the barrel... Not seen that anywhere else!!

Got pictures to mail too...

I think they saw their peak use with Shockers when they were among the more prevalent tourney markers to resolve both weight and co2 stabilization issues. I still see a lot of such setups in rec games. Lots of people love how they shoot but hate the weight, so that's how they dealt with it best. I always went with on gun when I had one, but I could have just as easily done remote if I felt so inclined.
